The provincial assembly library was established in 1971 in single room when the Assembly was established in Pakistan academy for rural development . in 1987 the library was also moved to the present building . Since in 2002 the old building of library and other building was demolished for 
renovation purpose in Mutahidan Majlis Amal period and the library once again was shifted to EIDGHAH Hall charsada road.The Assembly library once again shifted to the committee room inside the assembly building after the general election of 2008 due to the effort of the then speaker kiramat Ullah khan charghar matti. The Assembly library is now occupied in the committee room on 2nd flour.
